Yesterday I went to Brighton with some friends. We couldn't have picked a better day. In the morning we figure we should leave early so we would have plenty of time to look around and check out the Brighton attractions. On the way there the weather was your normal British weather. It was sunny one minute, then raining the next. It was about a 3 hour drive up there, this was the first time I had driven my new car some place far.
By the time we got there it was around 2pm, it was raining. We decided that since we would wonder around the town see what it had to offer.
We eventually found somewhere to eat. When we finished eating it was still raining, so we wondered round a little more and we found a mall, so we decided to stay inside for a while since it was drier inside. Afterwards we then processed to check out the beach despite the weather, and it was vacant.
By about 7pm we got to the venue for the gig, at Concorde 2. We were first in line, which was cool. We are sooo hardcore. The doors opened to the venue at 7:30 and when we go in it was partially seated area at the front with tables. We managed to get one at the front, lucky us! We were sat down for about an hour before they finally started to play. I was quite surprised at the amount of people at the venue, there was probably around 50? I have only been to gigs in London and they were packed, so this was pretty cool, since there wasn't so many crowds of people in the way.
I had planned to go to this event only to see Cary Brothers, because I'd heard some of his songs previously and I loved it. So when heard he was coming to the UK to do some gigs I had to go. I have previous heard about the Hotel Cafe tour, but I never knew they ventured out of the US. I figured this would be one opportunity I couldn't miss. I had planned on checking out the other artists on Myspace or something but I figured I would leave it as a surprise, since I kinda knew what to expect.
This gig was the most unique and defiantly the most interesting one I've been to so far. The fact that there are lots of different artists performing was great. If you've never seen it, it's defiantly somthing I would recommend checking out.
The artist that performed that night were; Tom McRae, Cary Brothers, Greg Laswell, Jim Bianco, Brian Wright and Catherine Feeny. All of which were amazing.
Here is the link to see some pictures of the event.

The show finish by about 11:30, we stayed around and I brought a few cds that they were selling. I also managed to meet with a few of the artists after the show, I spoke with Catherine Feeny, she was very nice, I also got her to sign me a cd.
It reads: "Cheers Kevin - Enjoy"
I also had a quick chat with Cary too, which was awesome! I also got a signed cd from him too.
It reads: "To Kevin - You rule!"
I wished we had more time to stick around but we were kinda rushing a little because I had a long drive back home again.
By the time I dropped my friends home and I got home myself, it was around 4:30am, I immediately went:
head + pillow = sleep.
