I really need to stop buying shit I don't actually need! So the other day I was surfing around on ebay, and within a matter of minutes I was bidding on an iPhone. Why? I have no idea. Don't get me wrong, I like the iPhone, but my current phone is good enough. The phone I had previously was a Nokia E90. It does pretty much everything the iPhone does plus more. Also not to mention I also have two iPod Touches, a 16GB and a 32GB version. (I'm sooo going to run out of money soon.) I really should be spending my money on more useful things in life, like a car, or a house!
For those of you who don't know the iPod Touch is the same as an iPhone, only without the phone feature.
So i received my iPhone yesterday, I would have blogged about it yesterday, but I spent most of my time playing around with it. OK lets start from the start.
The first time I even heard about the iPhone, I was like "meh..." I mean its has cool features like the touch screen, but the way that Apple were selling the product like it was a new revelation. From the tv ads you will see they were like "ooo you can surf the internet, and then look up cinema times, then phone your mates on the same device." Whoop dee doo! I can do that I my previous phone, it had full internet capabilities, even have a wide screen to view everything. And most phones these days can play mp3's. The reason I brought an iPod Touch in the first place I was surfing around the internet (as you do) and I came across a video on the ipod touch/iPhones feature the acclerometer, and combined with the ability to view your albums using cover flow, was amazing. I mean to be honest, it is a little pointless, but it looks cool! I like the way that it is just a big touch pad, with none of those awkward buttons that gets crap inside them.
I've never been much of a Mac fan, but then again, I've always grown up with Windows PC's, because its more widely used. Even in my IT courses I did, we never even touched a Mac. But ever since I've got my iPod Touch, I've been looking into MacBooks, and they seem pretty decent. I think I might have to get a MacBook at some point, but I don't really NEED one, since I have a small cheap laptop that I have at the moment. (Thats more of my impulse buying coming in to play)
...wait, does it count as impulse buying if you have thought about it for awhile?
I also brought some new headphones too, since my old ones were getting a little... well old. I got the Shure SE210. For those of who haven't heard of Shure, they make amazing headphones, I had a pair before and these are even better, they're like earplugs that you can listen to. They cancel all the outside noise and allows you to hear your music loud and clear. They are a little expensive for headphones, but well worth it if you really like your music.

Impulse buying, it's a curse

Back to work
Today I go back to work, from my long holiday, it feels really crappy having to go back to work again. I realised now that I REALLY should have done more in my holiday.
I tried to get back in touch again with old friends who I don't get to see as often as I'd like because of my annoying working hours, but everyone just happened to be "busy". I'd say something along the lines of "Hey any time you're not busy, we'll do something." They'd usually say "Yeah sure, will do", then nothing! Now I had pretty much a whole month off....I don't know maybe I'm just being too melodramatic or something, I'm sure everyone has more pressing issues to attend to than to see little old me. I'm sure crashing my car didn't really help. (see other post)
Which also by the way sucks! Because of the fact that I live in the middle of nowhere and my closes friend lives about 6 miles away. I could probably cycle there I guess, but its really not worth cycling 2hrs there and back again. Plus the transport service in this area is really crap, the buses go nowhere and the taxi's are way too expensive. If I was in London it would probably be ok, I know a lot of people complain about the London underground service, but I really think that its good, because you can get pretty much anywhere in London on the tube.
Anyway back on topic again.
I guess everyone hates going back to work after a long holiday and now I know how it feels. I don't think it would be so bad if it was a job that I would actually kinda enjoy, which was one of the things that I should have been doing more of, finding a new job.
Now before you say anything, I have been looking, I just haven't found anything that I want to do. And all the ones that I applied to I generally either hear nothing, or get a blanketed email saying "Sorry [random dude] but you didn't get the job this time... blah blah blah."
What I really want to do is move away and get a place somewhere near where I work. But I want to get the job first then move out, so I know that I can afford the place I'm living in. But most places (I'm assuming) don't want to hire me because I live too far away.
Where as, if I was to move away and get a place, the chances of me finding a job in the field that I want is highly unlikely, so I'd probably have to find something to fill the gap in the meantime like Tesco's or something which would be annoying as hell. So I'm kinda in a stalemate at the moment.
What else have I been doing...I have been trying to get back to rekindle some of my old creative talents, like drawing and stuff, but lately I haven't had the inspiration. I think I was trying to find something that I could possibly pursue as a career, because all I seem to do is play on my Xbox or randomly surf the internet and that isn't really going to get me anywhere in life. I just feel I need to do something that I could maybe apply to the outside world that could help. Oh well! I'm sure stuff will work itself out. I hope!

New computer today!
I got my new computer today, it's very cool, it took awhile taking the thing apart again, because I wanted to put my other hard drives in it. It's all working fine now, I'm just spending the hours installing all my software again....it's taking freakin' ages!
Well here are the specs of the computer anyway:
AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core 6400+ 3.20GHz
4GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 3870 XT 512MB
500GB SATA HDD
Samsung 20x DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter
Oooh very tidy inside :p

New car?
Today wasn't too interesting, I had to go to the insurance place to tell them about the accident and fill in a few forms etc. They said they'll send some people to check out the damage of the car to see how badly it is, but like I said before it's probably gonna be a write-off.
How very annoying, now I have no car, looks like I'll be stuck at home for a while. So I guess I'm looking for a new car at the moment...anyone got any suggestions?

Two crashes in one day!
So today I woke up and got out of bed and turned on my computer. (as you do) And to my horror it didn't work! What a uneventful day this is going to be. Now I'm quite a tech savvy guy I know what I'm doing around computers, I have lots of previous education in computers. Since I built my computer myself I also know what's going on inside. So I decided to open it up see if there was anything I could do, to make it magically work, but alas, I couldn't. So I figured I would buy a whole new system anyway, since my computer is around 2 years old anyway! I did think about just buying the components and building it again, but I've had so many bad experiences with building my own computers, I thought I would just save myself the hassle. So I brought myself a nice new one from Overclockers I'll let you know how I get on I hope. luckily I have my laptop with me, I'm not completely without my beloved internet. As if my day couldn't get any worse.
So what turned out to be an uneventful day, today turned out to be an interesting day, although not for the better. I crashed my car, it was not pretty. I was coming home from picking up my sister from school and I was coming round a corner and I lost control and the car ended up in among some small trees and hedges. lucky there was no other cars involved. The road was kinda wet due to the amount of rain which wasn't any help.
I've never been in a car accident in my life, so I had no clue on what to do! The first thing I did was to check on my sister, she was ok, just a little shook up. I rang my mum on my phone to tell her what had happened. I few people who lived in a houses nearby came to check to see if I was ok. I didn't catch their names but if they happen to have stumbled across my blog "Thanks for your help, I appreciate it!" Apparently it happens a lot on the road that I was on, they say they get one crash at least every week. I'm quite surprised that I did crash really, I've been around that road loads.
The people who came to check on me called the ambulance to get them to check if we were ok. After that we just waited for my mum to come, I had no idea what to do. Before my mum came a police car came along as well, which was kinda scary. I wasn't too shook up about the accident, but when the police arrived I was probably more nervous. I don't know if its just me, but I get a bit scared around police when they want to talk to me about stuff. I've never really done anything really bad before but I guess its just me being paranoid...
The police men just wanted to ask me a few questions, so I stepped in to the police car to answer a few questions like what happened, name, address and that. Then they wanted a breath test too, which I was kinda surprised about but I guess its only natural, because of the amount of drinking and driving that goes on. If any of you know me, I have never drunk any alcohol in my life, yet I was still slightly hesitant when he asked "When was the last time you consumed alcohol?" Which I'm sure didn't help. I was all clear of any alcohol you'll be glad to hear.
Once all the commotion was over I rang up the break-down services to arrange to pick up the car. The guy took around 30-40mins to get there which wasn't too bad I guess, the guy managed to take the car out of the shrubs and trees and on to his big towing machine. He then said it would probably be written off! Most of the damage was around the front of the car and the top, he said that it would be pointless to repair it, because the body was too badly damaged. Bummer!
The car has now been taken to a depot and I'll have to check with the insurance guys tomorrow, who no doubt will give me crap all. Ahh well, lesson learnt here.
At least I get a new car I suppose! :)
Hello, welcome and all that...
So I decided to start writing on this blog thingy, I've had this account for awhile, but I never have the balls to write anything. I got kinda a bit scared that if after awhile I'll meet someone and they'll know my life's story and I wouldn't know a thing about the other person. (Unless of course I'm reading their blog)
I wanted to start this because of two reasons really:
1. I occasionally read blogs online and although they are talking about how boring their life is, it can be interesting to other people.
2. My memory is shit! This at least gives me somewhere I can look back and see what happened to me and when.
So that's what to expect from me I guess, I'm gonna try and do one of these at lest once every 2 days if not everyday. But I wouldn't hold your breath.
Oh and don't bitch and whine about my grammar and shit, I know! Its terriable.
